It is true. Unless a snow storm interferes, Ernst will be deported on Tuesday to Germany. What happens next, no one can even guess. I did not know this until late yesterday. I had talked to Ernst on Friday at noon, twice, and he told me not to worry, not to let myself be spooked - that there were procedures and appeals that could and would still be followed, and that his deportation was likely still weeks away. I conveyed that information to media. Ernst tried to reach me on Friday evening, but I was gone to inspect a project with a friend, and it was not until almost 6 p.m. on Saturday when I read in the Globe and Mail - article below - that the issue was decided, that deportation would be the next step. Shortly afterwards, his son called me and verified this information. He said he had seen his father who looked "remarkably good," calm and composed, and that he had agreed to be deported.

An hour later, Ernst called and told me the same. When I asked him to give me a hint why he had changed his mind, why now, and what would happen next, he said: "You wouldn't want me to tell you with the censors listening, would you?"

That is really all I can tell you right now. The news is all over Europe - and, naturally, all over the American continent. I had many calls from Germany and other places, and the most common comment is: "At least he'll get a chair in Germany!"

TORONTO -- The federal government has declared Ernst Zundel a national security risk, setting the stage for his deportation from Canada. Immigration Minister Denis Coderre has issued a national security certificate against the 64-year-old Holocaust denier. A government source told Canadian Press the certificate was filed Thursday night in Federal Court.

But a Federal Court judge must first decide whether the certificate is reasonable before Ottawa can bypass the courts and fast-track Mr. Zundel's deportation. There has been much discussion within the Immigration Department over whether Mr. Zundel's hate propaganda and his denial of the Holocaust makes him a threat to Canada's national security.

Mr. Zundel has been in Canadian custody since Feb. 19 when he was forcibly returned after the U.S. government arrested him at his Tennessee home for overstaying a visitor's visa. He applied for refugee status in Canada because he is wanted on outstanding charges in Germany, where he was born. Asked upon Mr. Zundel's return whether he was going to remove him from the country, Mr. Coderre said, "just watch me."

From Zundel's Nazi Bitch commonlaw "wife": Ernst called me today from Canada at noon, very briefly, and told me that he was in Canada and had asked for political asylum. He asked me to call some friends to bring him some money since he was not allowed to have anything with him when he was arrested, and I was not allowed to see him while he was in detension here, except once, as you all know. He stayed in the Batavia Detention Center briefly, but how he got across the border - if he was taken, or if he was allowed to go by himself, I do not know. He is now in detention again, in a small town closer to Toronto, and I have been told by a mainstream reporter who is rather fold of Ernst that the Jews want to charge him all over again - chances are, for MY website. Meanwhile, somebody shot out a big window in one of our buildings where we planned to hold our first art exhibit and community meeting, and damaged a second pane. I called the police who took a report and promised they would patrol our area. I am angry but calm. Believe me I am calm. The Canadian media went wild again, as they always do when they think they smell prey. I stuck to my guns and told them I no longer would cooperate with hostile media.
