Columbia scraps plans for speech by Iranian president amid criticism from Jewish group

UNITED NATIONS Columbia University has scrapped plans for an address by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad because of security and logistical problems. The move came as a Jewish activist group expressed outrage that the hard-line leader had been invited to speak. Ahmadinejad, who was in New York for the annual U.N. General Assembly ministerial meetings that started this week, drew widespread condemnation last year for calling the Holocaust a "myth" and saying Israel should be destroyed.

The New York-based Jewish Defense Organization issued a statement on its Web site, saying it "blasted Columbia University for inviting the vicious Jew-hating President of Iran to speak on its campus." The statement singled out Columbia's President Lee Bollinger."Columbia under Bollinger has opened the door to the 'Hitler of Iran,'" the statement said.

Bollinger denounced Ahmadinejad's past statements but defended the invitation, which was extended by the dean of Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs, Lisa Anderson.

"I find President Ahmadinejad's stated beliefs to be repugnant," he said, while adding that "I have no doubt that Columbia students and faculty would use an open exchange to challenge him sharply and are fully capable of reaching their own independent conclusions." The invitation was extended Wednesday morning at the suggestion of "Iranians at SIPA," a student organization that "encourages public forums about issues of current moment," Anderson said in a statement. She said Ahmadinejad's staff was notified of the invitation on Wednesday morning and accepted at noon, offering to extend his visit to New York until Friday. But, she said, it became clear Wednesday afternoon "that it would not be possible to make the extraordinary logistical and security arrangements necessary on short notice."

A spokesman for Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs, Rob Garris, stressed on Thursday that the decision was made before organizers knew about the Jewish Defense Organization's objections. "The university was very aware and concerned about the fact that he's a controversial speaker," Garris said. "But the fact that he was controversial meant that the logistics were just that much harder."

Even Khallid Muhammed the vicious Black Nazi follower of Farrakhan was invited to Columbia where he gave an hour long speech about killing Jews and whites.

Now Columbia under Bollinger has opened the door to the "Hitler of Iran" and JDO is giving out President Bollinger’s phone# and calling upon outraged Jews to call his offices and demand that Columbia stop inviting vicious Jew-Haters like this from ever speaking at Columbia. JDO is also contacting Columbia alumni to cut off money because of this latest outrage. Ahmadinejad evasive on Hezbollah question / But the Iranian president argues the nuclear issue is about development

UNITED NATIONS - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad refused to say Thursday whether he would comply with a Security Council demand to disarm and disband Hezbollah, the Tehran-backed guerrilla group that fought a 34-day war with Israel. "I'd like to say that Lebanon's affairs are its own affairs, and we don't want to interfere," he said, when asked about the resolution that ended the combat in Lebanon last month. He was also evasive about whether Iran would comply with the resolution's call for an arms embargo to keep Hezbollah from rearming.

He said the U.N. Charter gave people the right to defend themselves and that "we give spiritual support to all those who want to uphold their rights." Ahmadinejad spoke at a wide-ranging news conference in a packed U.N. conference hall in which he also reiterated Iran's denial that it was pursuing a nuclear weapon and chastised Western countries for trying to curb Iran's right to pursue nuclear energy.

"Iran considers the nuclear issue a political one," he said. "They're not concerned about the bomb, they want to stop the development of our country." Asked about his threat to wipe Israel off the map, he argued that his criticism of Israel had been misinterpreted as a rejection of Jews. "These Zionists are not Jews," he said. "This is the biggest deception we have faced. They are a power group, a power party. We oppose any group that seeks raw power." He said Iran "loves everyone around the world, Jews, Christians, Muslims." But, returning to the subject of Israel, he said, "We announce and declare loudly that you will be condemned by the rest of the world if you displace people from their homes."

His attitude was less belligerent than it had been in his speech to the General Assembly on Tuesday evening. He smiled frequently and even apologized to New Yorkers whom he had seen out his car window having to wait for his motorcade to pass before they could cross the street. As in his General Assembly address, he depicted Iran as a growing country impatient with the current U.N. order that, he said, gave undeserved authority to the nations that won World War II.

This Islamic terror government has tried to get nuclear weapons and threatened to (Heaven Forbid) attempt to "wipe out the Jewish pig people of Israel." Iran has already put innocent Iranian Jews in front of firing squads, for the crime of being Jews. Since 1979 top heads of the Islamic terror Jew-Hating government made links, secret meetings with known neo-nazi leaders as part of a world wide alliance against the Jews. The first to do this was actually Adolf Hitler, who after the Nazis came to power in Germany invited the Mufti, to Germany. The Mufti, a relative of Arafat, a later Arab Hitler, was the precursor of all anti-Jewish terror in Israel. The Mufti ran Arab terror groups that had butchered Jews all over pre-state Israel in the 1920’s and 30’s. The Mufti openly declared that both his Arab Jew-Killing terror group and the Nazis had a common enemy "the evil Jews" and should work together on making a Holocaust against the Jews of Israel and the World. You will also note that the entire anti-war movement in the US from War Resistors League, NION, and IAC, not one has said a word about this. If anything these traitors will come to Iran’s defense! Why? Because the anti-war movement hates Jews, Israel and America, and supports the Islamic homicide bombers both those that target Israel and those who target American troops bravely fighting in Iraq. The poster woman of this sick anti-war scene is Jew-Hater, Israel-Hater Lynne Stewart who speaks at numerous anti-war rallies even after she was convicted for plotting to do terror attacks against Jews living in America. This speaks miles about those self-hating Jews that cheer this enemy of the Jews at those rallies. Recently though some Jews quit the War Resisters League calling it as it is, an anti-Semitic hate group that cheers the murderers of Jews in Israel. This more than thing else explains the mindset of young Jews remaining silent in the colleges as this new Hitler of Iran threatening a new Holocaust (Heaven Forbid) and even the Jewish students around the USA are visibly silent! The reason is two-fold. One many have come under the influence of the anti-Israel anti-war groups, which of course will desensitize them to any threats aimed at Jews. Also many Hillel’s have refused to march or rally about this for a number of worthless excuses, mostly because they too are apathetic, and find it "more convenient" to sit on their hands and do nothing. Secondly, the criminal cowardly silence of the Jewish Establishment has led many Jewish students to think "it can’t be a big deal if Jewish groups are not storming the barricades." JDO met with these Jewish students and told them how the Jewish Establishment in America also sat on its hands while 12,000 Jews a day were gassed in Auschwitz. Instead of marching in front of the White House to demand that then President Roosevelt send air force planes to bomb railroad lines to Auschwitz the Jewish groups like AJC, ADL, B’nai-Brith, Hadassah, all made a decision then as now to be silent, and 6 Million Jews were butchered. Today, we are facing that same deafening silence by young Jews, and older Jews all whom should, NO MUST take to the streets, TO STOP A MAN THAT WANTS TO BE THE NEW HITLER OF IRAN!!!
